Patricia Arquette’s Son Is “Proud” of Boyhood Success, Famous Family “Emotional”

Her boy’s proud of Boyhood! Patricia Arquette recently gushed to Us Weekly about her family’s reaction to her awards season success while attending The Wrap’s Oscar nominees party in West Hollywood on Monday, Feb. 2. The Oscar-nominated actress is mom to son Enzo, 26, and daughter Harlow, 11.

“They give me high fives, which is a lot to get from an 11-year-old daughter,” Arquette, 46, told Us on the red carpet. “They’re very excited. My son saw the movie, which I don’t usually have my kids see my work. I just want to be their mom,” she added. “But I did ask my son to see it, and he said, ‘Mom, you did really well. I’m really proud of you.'” (Enzo’s dad is Arquette’s ex-boyfriend Paul Rossi. She had Harper with now ex-husband Thomas Jane in 2003.)

Arquette’s famous siblings Rosanna, David, Alexis, and Richmond Arquette are also proud of her critically acclaimed movie Boyhood, which was filmed over a 12-year period.

“My siblings are just so emotional, open, excited, and generous,” she told Us. “‘What do you want? Anything you want, anything you need — how can I help you? I’m so happy for you.'”

Arquette has been cleaning up in the Best Supporting Actress categories for her role in the Richard Linklater-directed drama. She’s won a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, and Screen Actors Guild Award for her work, and will next compete against Wild’s Laura Dern, The Imitation Game’s Keira Knightley, Birdman’s Emma Stone, and Into the WoodsMeryl Streep at the Oscars. (With previous wins, Arquette came prepared with pre-written speeches!)

“For the SAG Awards, I was just overwhelmed with feeling. Because so many generations of my family have been actors. It’s so meaningful to us…” Arquette recalled. “Sometimes it’s been painful acting. Sometimes you haven’t been able to get a job. Sometimes you made a great movie but no one promoted it,” she continued. “That moment was just overwhelming because it’s your peers, your community.”
