David Arquette

David Arquette is an actor, producer, director and former professional wrestler. Arquette was born in Bentonville, Virginia, and was raised in a family of performers including his father, Lewis, and sister Patricia. He spent part of his childhood on a Virginia commune before his family relocated to California.

Arquette started out with television roles on The Outsiders, Parenthood and Double Rush before making the leap to film. He later appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), Wild Bill (1995) and Johns (1996). His breakout role came in 1996 when he was cast as Dewey Riley in Scream. The film became a box office hit and launched one of horror’s most successful franchises, making Arquette a familiar face in Hollywood.

In addition to the Scream series, Arquette’s credits include Never Been Kissed (1999), Ready to Rumble (2000), See Spot Run (2001), Eight Legged Freaks (2002), The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl (2005) and The Tripper (2006), which marked his feature directorial debut. He won multiple Blockbuster Entertainment Awards for his work in the Scream films and shared a Teen Choice Award for his onscreen chemistry with Courteney Cox in Scream 3.

Arquette met Cox while filming Scream, and they married in 1999. They welcomed daughter Coco Arquette (born in 2004) before separating in 2010 and finalizing their divorce in 2013. He later married journalist Christina McLarty in 2015. The couple share two sons, Charlie (born in 2014) and Augustus (born in 2017).
