Call it the most majestic photobomb! Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II showed that she’s totally down with photobombing while attending the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, on Thursday, July 24.
Two members of the winning female hockey team, Australia’s Hockeyroos, took a victory selfie, when they noticed a prominent figure smiling in the background. “Aaaahhh the Queen photo-bombed our selfie,” Jayde Taylor tweeted alongside the pic. “#royalty #queenie #onceinalifetime @auscomgames.”
In the snapshot, the British monarch, wearing a tailored lime green suit and hat, stands behind the girls from behind a netted wall and grins.
Taylor’s fellow teammate Anna Flanagan tweeted a picture of the moment before the Queen photobombed the pic. “What a day!! 4-0 win over Malaysia… And we just met the QUEEN!!! #queenselfie #roovolution @thecgf,” she wrote.
Queen Elizabeth’s amazing photo op came just two days after she celebrated her great-grandson Prince George‘s first birthday at Kensington Palace with his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
While the head of the British royal family had much to smile about this week, Buckingham Palace has been dealing with its own scandal on the side after one of her prize-winning horses, Estimate, tested positive for morphine.
