Rihanna has seemingly responded to EJ Johnson’s video shading the singer following her appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
The drama began nearly a week ago, when EJ — whose parents are Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Cookie Johnson — recounted their experience at Paris Fashion Week and made a subtle dig at Rihanna, 38, and claimed that the singer was late to the event. (EJ uses they/them pronouns.)
“We just left the Dior show. Getting out of there was crazy, but the show itself was beautiful. It did start an hour late because Rihanna was late,” EJ, 34, said in an Instagram Reel following the fashion show held on September 29. “We didn’t care to wait for her, but the show was beautiful nonetheless.”
Following EJ’s social media post, a video circulated of the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alum signing autographs and posing outside their Paris hotel. According to the clip shared via The Hollywood Fix, EJ was blocked from entering their hotel. It is unclear why EJ could not enter the building.
On Saturday, October 3, Rihanna commented on the video of EJ writing, “Damn.”
Her response received more than 41,000 likes at the time of publication and earned reactions from several fans.
“That damn was so loud and hilarious! The jokes write themselves!😂😂😂,” one user replied while another wrote, “that damn was so loud and hilarious! The jokes write themselves!😂😂😂.”
Rihanna attended multiple shows in Paris for Fashion Week. At the Dior event, Rihanna stunned in an all-black ensemble featuring a spaghetti strap dress, jacket and heels. She completed her look with a stylish updo and black shades.
She also attended the Matières Fécales Spring 2027 show the day prior. For the event, the singer rocked a tinseled gold skirt and matching jacket. Harper’s Bazaar reported at the time that Rihanna was late to the Matières Fécales show, which was ultimately delayed by a full hour.
Rihanna has been known to show up late to an event or two. Earlier this year, she and partner ASAP Rocky arrived fashionably late to the 2026 Met Gala. The couple, who share sons RZA, 4, and Riot, 3, as well as daughter Rocki, 13 months, posed for photos together as the red carpet winded down. Rihanna donned a crystalized turtleneck paired with a metallic skirt. The garment included a sphere that engulfed her body. The rapper, 38, looked dapper in a tuxedo with a baby pink coat.
