Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough had an awkward — but adorable — time chatting on the American Idol host's KIIS-FM radio show Friday.
Hough, 23, called in to promote her new movie Rock of Ages (in theaters now), and Seacrest said he "loved" the big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical. And though he called Hough's performance as Sherrie Christian "fantastic," the actress couldn't help but poke fun her love of two years.
"There were half-naked girls on poles!" she giggled. "Of course you loved it!"
When Seacrest, 37, later asked how it felt to work with stars like Tom Cruise, 49, and Mary J. Blige, 41, Hough teased: "Are you reading from your notes right now?"
During their eight-minute interview, the two joked about everything from Seacrest's small stature, their pooping pooches and their 14-year-age difference. Before signing off, Seacrest said: "I'm very proud of you. Go see Julianne in the movie. Thanks, darling." Hough answered, "Alright. I love you. Bye."
Instead of saying "I love you, too," Seacrest simply said, "Bye."
The radio host's colleagues then teased him for not returning the terms of endearment. "She said 'I love you' and you didn't say it back!" they yelled.
"Because you guys won't shut up," Seacrest laughed before signing off for a commercial break.
