Back and better than ever! Selena Gomez made her first red carpet appearance since completing a stint in rehab at the 2016 American Music Awards at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Sunday, November 20.
Gomez, 24, stunned in a floor-length red Prada gown and diamond drop earrings. The “Hands to Myself” songstress looked sleek with her hair pulled back in a low ponytail.
Gomez has been keeping a low profile and taking time off to focus on her mental health since late August. She cancelled the 34 remaining dates on her Revival world tour as a result.
At the time, the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer told Us Weekly in a statement, “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges. I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off.”
The former Disney star, who previously went to rehab in 2014 for the chronic autoimmune disease, has been recuperating at a Tennessee treatment facility, which an insider previously described to Us as a “private and quiet place,” but “super intense.”
