Bachelor Nation alum Serena Pitt is thanking fans for their “love and support” after news of husband Joe Amabile’s brain tumor.

“Finding out that Joe has a brain tumor has come with so many emotions. It has felt very scary, overwhelming and heavy at times,” Serena, 28, captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 14. “We feel so blessed to have an amazing community who is supporting us and helping us hold onto a positive mindset throughout all of this!”

She concluded, “I truly believe Joe is going to get through this, and no matter what happens we’re going to face it together.”

Serena posted a black-and-white image of herself cozying up with Joe, 40, while making s’mores. (The couple got legally married in October 2022 and tied the knot a second time nearly a year later in a larger ceremony with family and friends in attendance.)

“This photo is from this past weekend which was filled with endless, much needed laughs,” Serena told her followers.

Joe shared his love in the comments section, noting that his s’mores were “better.”

The Bachelorette alum announced via Instagram on Monday, July 13, that doctors found “a blueberry size lesion” on his brain, which appears to be a tumor. Joe revealed that he will be undergoing surgery in two weeks to “get it removed and get it tested.”

According to Joe, “it’s been a wild couple weeks” since finding out the news.

“I definitely wasn’t expecting this,” he continued. “I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘Oh, something like this will never happen to me.’ And here I am.”

The former Bachelor in Paradise star offered a shout-out to New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in his Instagram caption.

“This past month has been a lot of ups and downs to say the least. After multiple scans and MRIs I have what looks to be an early stage brain tumor. In two weeks I’ll be undergoing a craniotomy to have it removed — yeah brain surgery,” he wrote. “I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends.”

Joe concluded, “I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media but ultimately this is now part of my life now, so might as well. Onto a new journey.”

Several Bachelor Nation stars, including Zac Clark and Jason Tartick, shared their support for Joe via social media following his health update.
