All the feels for John Green! The man who's made so many people weep with his book, The Fault in Our Stars, ended up crying at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12 — and he can blame it on Shailene Woodley.

The actress delivered an incredibly sweet speech about the scribe while accepting the Best Female Performance honor on Sunday. "I feel like this award belongs to John Green," Woodley, 23, told the crowd. "Who I'm staring at right now, because he gave this world a beautiful masterpiece: A gift in the book The Fault in Our Stars."

Woodley played Hazel Grace Lancaster in the movie opposite love interest Ansel Elgort's character Augustus Waters. As the actress delivered her thoughtful words of love on Sunday, Green bashfully looked down while his wife Sarah Urist Green beamed beside him.

"It changed my life when I read it," Woodley noted of the best-selling novel. "And being a part of this film dramatically influenced who I am today. His words will transcend time, because they transcend any age. There's not one single demographic that won't affected by the wisdom and the compassion and the beauty that he laces into every single thing that he does in his life."

Woodley then directly addressed the Paper Towns author. "So, John Green: Beyond the Fault in Our Stars, I just want to thank you for being the human that you are every single day," she noted. "Living life with integrity and compassion on your sleeve, because you've changed the lives of millions of people around the world, and you've changed mine. So thank you."

The cameras then panned to the scribe, who was taped wiping away tears.

He also tweeted in support for his leading lady. "I love Shailene Woodley," Green tweeted after her speech. "Overwhelmed and grateful for her friendship and for her being hazel so brilliantly."

(Later, Woodley was seen getting emotional when her Divergent costar Miles Teller praised his costar before the star-studded audience.)
