Sister Wives star Janelle Brown is taking a moment to reflect on her past relationship dynamic.
“Have you ever wondered about what the version of you who second-guess everything would think of you now?” Brown, 57, wrote over a Thursday, August 20, Instagram video.
In the clip, Brown smiled as she gazed at the camera while standing at the beach.
“I think about her sometimes. The version of me who ran every decision past three people before she trusted it enough to move,” Janelle wrote in the caption, seemingly referring to ex Kody Brown’s partners Robyn, Christine and Meri. (Christine, 54, was the first to leave Kody, 57, and Janelle and Meri, 55, followed after, both confirming their separations from Kody in December 2022 and January 2023, respectively.)
“She would probably not even recognize the version of me who bought land without a plan, who changed course mid-week because it stopped feeling right, who doesn’t ask permission before making the call anymore,” Janelle continued. “I don’t think she’d think I got braver, necessarily. I think she’d just be relieved. Like she’d been waiting a long time for someone to finally believe her instead of everyone else.”
Days prior, Janelle shared that she has a new love in her life. While introducing fans to her boyfriend, Pete, Janelle uploaded a selfie of the pair smiling via her Instagram.
“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” she wrote on Tuesday, August 18. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful. 🩷. Everyone please meet Pete.”
In the comments section, Janelle received a message of support from Christine, who wrote, “He’s such an awesome guy!! They are so cute together and he’s a construction worker 👷🏻♀️ like David!!” (Christine tied the knot with David Woolley in October 2023 following her split from Kody.)
Janelle previously married Jody in 1993, one year before he exchanged vows with Christine. Kody was already married to Meri when Janelle and Christine entered the family. He went on to marry fourth wife Robyn in a 2010 spiritual ceremony. Kody legally divorced Meri four years later to legally marry Robyn and adopt her three children.
Christine revealed in 2021 that she and Kody went their separate ways. One year later, Janelle announced in 2022 that she and Kody had been separated for months. Meri confirmed her split from Kody in 2023, while Robyn is still married to Kody.
Kody has 18 children between his four partners. He shares one child with Meri, six with Janelle, six with Christine and five with Robyn. (Janelle and Kody’s son Garrison died in 2024 at age 25.)
