Sister Wives Polygamist Kody Brown, Four Wives Pull Prank on Strangers Observing Their Lifestyle

The Brown family has jokes! TLC star Kody Brown and his four wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, have invited strangers into their homes to observe their polygamist lifestyle in the upcoming episode of Sister Wives — and Us Weekly has the exclusive clip.

The family’s guests are two anthropology students who are living with the Browns for a few days to get what is described by TLC as “an unfiltered look at their polygamist lifestyle.” While the Brown family has graciously welcomed the future anthropologists, the unconventional reality brood decides to have some fun with their observers.

“This prank actually makes me feel awkward. It must be the perfect prank,” Kody, 47, says. “Each wife is going to give me an offering of their food,” he continues with a nervous boisterous laugh.

One of his wives, Janelle, chimes in: “They might think it’s a normal thing for us.”

The clip then features Kody at the head of the dinner table sharing a conversation with the students, when one of his wives interrupts to spoon-feed him. She then returns to the kitchen, where the rest of the wives are bursting out into laughter. Meanwhile, the anthropologists’ reactions are priceless.

The prank, which will play out in full this weekend, comes days after the TLC stars made headlines. It was revealed this past Tuesday, Feb. 3, that Kody had secretly divorced his first wife Meri, 44, to legally marry his youngest spouse Robyn, 36. (Kody is spiritually entwined in unions with his four wives, including Janelle, 45, and Christine, 42. Legally speaking, however, he can only be married to one at a time. The polygamist patriarch shares 14 biological children and 3 stepchildren with his spouses.)

In a statement to Us, Kody and his wives addressed the situation, saying it was part of a joint family family decision. “We have chosen to legally restructure our family,” the Browns noted. “We made this decision together as a family. We are grateful to our family, friends and fans for all their love and support.”

Watch their funny prank above and tune in to TLC this Sunday, Feb. 8.
