Summer House alum Hannah Berner makes sure her friend Ciara Miller is doing alright despite the ongoing viral cast drama.
“She’s great, she’s amazing,” Berner, 34, said on the Thursday, June 4, broadcast of Today With Jenna and Sheinelle. “From Day 1, Ciara and I connected even though the show definitely wanted us to not like each other.”
She added, “You know what’s crazy. She walked in, she had a cat ring. I said, ‘Forget the boys, do you like cats?’ She was, like, ‘Yeah,’ [and] I swear to God from that day forward, we just loved cats.”
Berner’s friendship with Miller, 30, has extended well beyond the Bravoverse. (Berner left Summer House in 2021 ahead of season 6 following a love triangle with Miller and former costar Luke Gulbranson.)
“She’s doing great, she looks amazing [and] she’s having fun,” Berner added on Thursday. “It’s weird to see your friend go through something so intense ‘cause every time you go on the phone, it’s her face doing something else.”
News broke in March that Miller’s costar Amanda Batula had recently started dating West Wilson, who previously was romantically linked to Miller. While both Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, denied any relationship overlap, Miller claimed that she was blindsided by the revelation.
Since then, Miller has seemingly risen about the drama to star in major brand campaigns and secure deals as a red carpet correspondent. She also makes time to catch up with Berner.
“I was more, like, ‘Are you drinking enough water? You’re on too many flights, you have a different brand deal every day,’” the “Giggly Squad” podcaster recalled to Today hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones. “I always told her that she’s a star, so I’m just happy to see [everything unfold].”
Berner concluded, “I love when my friends are successful because it makes me look cooler.”
Miller recently reunited with both Batula and Wilson during the Summer House season 10 reunion, which aired Part 2 earlier this week. Throughout the tell-all, Batula and Wilson have tried to defend their casual romance.
“I’m also so f***ing tired of them being like, ‘But you’re married. But you’re married,’” Batula told Wilson backstage. “It’s also so f***ing frustrating because they knew how miserable we were in that relationship. And he treated me like absolute s***. And it’s not just the way he spoke to me on camera, it’s the way he spoke to me off too.”
Miller, who is set to compete on Dancing With the Stars season 35 this fall, has yet to decide if she’ll return to the Hamptons for a potential Summer House season 11.
“Ciara is thinking about coming back to the house,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly last month. “Likely for one last season to prove a point.”
