His most surreal moment yet! Survivor alum Ethan Zohn married his girlfriend, Lisa Heywood, in a traditional Jewish ceremony in Vermont Saturday, July 16, a rep for the former reality star confirms to Us Weekly.
“Yes! Ethan got married today,” the rep told Us, adding that the couple is “a beautiful example of true love and a celebration of life.”
Zohn, 42, and Heywood, 47, first met at a Clinton Global Initiative charity event in September 2013, and have since been inseparable before announcing their engagement in July 2015.
The Massachusetts native is best known to fans as the winner of the third season of the popular reality show Survivor: Africa in 2001, and later competing competing on the all-stars edition of the series, which premiered in February 2004, right after the Super Bowl.
Zohn is also a two-time survivor of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a disease that required intense bouts of chemotherapy and in 2011, a stem cell transplant from his brother. (He was first diagnosed in 2009 and then again in 2012. Zohn now lives cancer-free.)
Zohn famously used his $1 million winnings from his first win with Survivor to cofound Grassroots Soccer, an HIV/AIDS prevention program that connects professional soccer players with youth in Africa.
Prior to dating Heywood, Zohn dated fellow Survivor winner Jenna Morasca for 10 years before the pair split in February 2013.
