Taylor Swift paid a pretty penny to secure the proper permits for her star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding to Travis Kelce.
“Taylor Swift … has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said during a Friday, July 10, press conference when asked about police overtime expenses from the occasion. “That was a permit that was finalized days before the event itself.”
Swift and Kelce, both 36, got married on July 3 inside MSG, days after Us Weekly confirmed that event organizers had filed permits to shut down the surrounding streets for a then-undisclosed gathering. Outside the arena, streets were blocked off and tents were pitched to direct and conceal attendee traffic.
After Swift and Kelce said “I do” in front of a crowd of 1,000 guests, digital billboards outside the venue lit up to read, “JusT&T Married.” A rep for the Grammy winner also revealed ceremony details via a press release.
“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom,” a statement shared with Us read. “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. [Both of] their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.”
Swift’s spokesperson further revealed that the newlyweds opted against having a traditional bridal party.
“Her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s ‘Man of Honor’ and [Travis’ brother], Jason Kelce, was Travis’ Best Man,” the rep added at the time. “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”

The wedding, which a source told Us felt “really intimate,” was attended by a who’s who of guests, including Patrick Mahomes, Brad Pitt, Karlie Kloss, Brad Paisley, Ciara and more.
“We had the best time,” Ciara, 40, exclusively gushed to Us in an interview on Friday. “It was a really beautiful, magical night, and I [will] kind of leave it there. I think I’ll let Travis and Taylor tell their story of their beautiful wedding whenever they choose to. But I can definitely say it was a really fun night.”
Swift and Travis have not publicly detailed their wedding day, which the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s mom, Donna Kelce, called “magical.” Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, meanwhile, mused earlier this week that the occasion, during which their four daughters served as the flower girls, was “incredible.”
