Don't hurt yourself! An unidentified police officer's amazing dance routine to Beyoncé's song "Formation" is going viral.
The video of his impressive moves was initially posted on Instagram by user @mrldavis and began making headlines on Monday, August 15.
"When you're a police officer but a Beyonce Stan too so you have to get in Formation, literally," the caption reads. It's since been viewed on the original account more than 8,000 times.
In the clip, the policeman surprises an audience when he unexpectedly breaks it down. Dressed in his uniform, he mouths the lyrics and starts to shake his hips and flail his arms.
The quick performance was jaw-dropping until the very end. After singing about having "hot sauce in my bag," he showed off his swag by dropping down into a split.
Queen Bey's "Formation" is off her sixth album, Lemonade. The track instantly became a hit with fans, but also raised some flags. Some believed that the song was anti-police because of its music video, which featured the words "Stop shooting us" and Black Lives Matter imagery.
Beyoncé, 34, opened up about the controversy in an interview with Elle magazine. "I mean, I'm an artist and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken," she said in April. "I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe."
