T.I. to the rescue! The rapper immediately came to Iggy Azalea's aid after Snoop Dogg bullied the "Fancy" singer on social media, a source tells Us Weekly. T.I., who is also close with Snoop, served as a "mediator" once things got nasty between the two artists.
"T.I. jumped in to defend her," a source close to the VH1 reality star tells Us. "Iggy is family to him, but so is Snoop. It started out as something playful…and then turned serious," the insider added of the three-day feud between the two artists, who blasted one another back and forth with meme-like photos.
"They both took things the wrong way…T.I. talked it out with Snoop and then Iggy and was the mediator. Everybody understands now and they know what they did was wrong," the source says, adding that to T.I., it was like "seeing a brother and a sister fight."
T.I. has served as Azalea's longtime mentor and signed her to his label, Grand Hustle, back in 2012. Aside from executive producing her albums, the two also collaborated on the track "No Mediocre."
The feud, which was ignited by Snoop, started out "as something playful," but quickly "got out of hand," the insider says, adding that it was T.I. who convinced the "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper to apologize on Wednesday.
Before apologizing though, Snoop went as far as to call the Aussie a "bitch" and a "c–t."
"They were both out of line but it’s all good now," the source concludes.
A source close to Snoop tells Us that the rapper was "just joking" and "completely respects women and loves that there are so many great and talented female rappers."
