The cringeworthy moment went down after Trump and Hillary Clinton’s notably bitter, ugly 90-minute battle, when they greeted their families on stage. The GOP presidential candidate, 70, appeared to lean in for a peck on the cheek, but Tiffany, 22, turned her head to the side and looked behind her.
The media mogul’s entire family — minus his 10-year-old son, Barron — attended the event. Melania Trump sat with Donald’s eldest children Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr. in the audience. (Their mom is Trump’s second wife, Ivana Trump.) Tiffany and Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, joined the group at the end.
Tiffany’s mom is model Marla Maples. Donald and the Dancing With the Stars alum, 52, had an affair when he was still married to his first wife, Ivana, 67. He and Marla went on to tie the knot in 1993 and divorced in 1999. He wed Melania, 46, in 2005.
Tiffany, an aspiring singer, spoke during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July. “[My father’s] desire for excellence is contagious. He possesses a unique skill in bringing that trait out in others,” she said at the time. “My dad is a natural-born encourager, the last person who will ever tell you to lower your sights or give up your dreams.”
Tiffany was born in NYC and was mainly raised by Marla in L.A. “The truth was, the challenge was being able to balance being a working mom and being there for a child full-time. Her daddy loves her, of course, but … I was the parent. I was the parent that was there in the flesh [and] with her all the time,” Marla, now an actress and TV personality, told Us Weekly in April. “It was amazing. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I learned the most and it brought me the greatest joy.”
