The best wedding present ever! Tim McGraw was a surprise wedding guest at a couple’s nuptials in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 27, and serenaded the lucky bride and groom, Lisa White and Paul Getz.
David White, the father of the bride, arranged for the country superstar to perform his song “My Little Girl” during the father-daughter dance at the reception held at Vie on Saturday night.
“They went through about one line of the song, and then right after that Lisa turns around and sees that Tim McGraw was singing to her. Everybody was spellbound in the place,” the groom’s father, Paul Getz Sr., told CBS Philadelphia.
But he didn’t stop there. McGraw, 49, who was dressed in a tux and cowboy hat, performed a bunch of other songs, including “Live Like You Were Dying,” accompanied by local band Jellyroll. “It just capped off the entire excitement of the day and made it even that much more special for two really special people,” Getz Sr. said.

The groom later posted a pic with his wife and the singer on Twitter, writing “Thank you to @TheTimMcGraw for making my wife and I’s wedding night so awesome.”
“Originally she thought, ‘Why did my dad hire a Tim McGraw impersonator?'” Getz said in an interview with The Highway on SiriusXM on Monday, “and then she realized it was actually him. It was absolutely unbelievable and he was such a great guy. He played for about 45 minutes and played eight or nine songs, and then we got to hang out with him a little bit afterward backstage.”
Getz said that his new father-in-law had dropped hints about a wedding surprise he was planning. “About a year ago, he had mentioned to Lisa, ‘Just wait for our father-daughter dance, it’s going to be epic.’ We really didn’t think anything of it.”
“Mr. White was the only person who knew it was happening,” Paul’s sister, Kristen, told CBS Philadelphia. “Tim was there for two hours backstage beforehand, and that’s when him and Mr. White planned how the surprise would do down. Such a heartwarming moment filled with love!”
