Tom Brady’s team is calling foul on one headline surrounding the former NFL quarterback.
After a report surfaced claiming the athlete thinks Sofía Vergara is “too old” for him, a rep for Brady, 47, said the Super Bowl champion “would never” say such a thing.
“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this,” his rep told Us Weekly on Thursday, July 10. “It is pure fiction.” (People was the first to report.)
Speculation surrounding Brady and Vergara, 53, started earlier this month when the pair were spotted aboard Ritz-Carlton’s new superyacht, the Luminara.
When Vergara shared her memories from the trip, one of the photos showed the America’s Got Talent judge sitting at a table alongside Brady and musician J Balvin.
“What a perfect weekend full of surprises!❤️gracias!” she wrote via Instagram on July 1. “Luv u @mark.limited @dougchabbott @ritzcarltonyachtcollection.”
Vergara and Brady weren’t exactly alone on the trip. The pair were among a large group of celebrities on board, including Martha Stewart, Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell, Kate Hudson, Nina Dobrev, Shaun White, Kendall Jenner and Irina Shayk.
Close to 400 guests in total were expected to enjoy the two-night journey from Rome to Malta.
Brady’s latest getaway came after he attended Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos’ wedding.
According to TMZ, the Fox NFL announcer allegedly “danced with everyone” at the wedding reception and afterparty and grooved with single ladies, including Sydney Sweeney and Brooks Nader.
While both Vergara and Brady have yet to publicly comment on their relationship status, both parties appear to be single.
Brady and Gisele Bündchen confirmed their split after more than a decade of marriage in October 2022. At the time, the exes also revealed that they had privately finalized their divorce.
As for Vergara, she has been single since divorcing Joe Manganiello in 2023 after seven years of marriage.
“[I want] somebody that loves me, somebody that’s tall and handsome,” she told Jenna Bush Hager and Erin Andrews during a May appearance on Today. “I want somebody that has as much money as me or more because if not, it’s a nightmare. They end up resenting me. I want somebody fun. I need fun in my life.”
On Thursday, Vergara appeared to be having fun as she turned 53. While celebrating her birthday on social media, the Modern Family alum posted photos from Sardinia with friends.
“Bday in Sardinia!!🐟,” she wrote via Instagram while posing in a bikini. “Gracias😉🌸.”
