He knows how to dodge a question … all too well. Tom Hiddleston was asked about his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift during a recent Facebook Live Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter.
A fan specifically brought up Hiddleston’s busy summer with the “Wildest Dreams” singer, 26. The couple, as Hiddleswift fans know, traveled to places such as L.A., Nashville and Italy in just the first few weeks of their relationship.
“We all live in a world where every phone has a camera and there’s nothing new, really, about the spotlight on me, I think that’s what happens when you’re a public figure,” the Night Manager actor, 35, said on Friday, August 12.
“I’ve learned that there are many sides to a story, and that sometimes there are a lot of stories out there which are false and the hardest thing is to try to not let those falsehoods affect your own life,” he continued. “That’s what I would say.” (Hiddleston pushed himself even more into the public eye when he joined Instagram on August 9.)
Swift began dating the British star shortly after ending her 15-month romance with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris. In mid-June, Swift and Hiddleston went public when the British newspaper The Sun posted photos of the pair kissing near Swift’s Rhode Island home.
Hiddleston, who previously noted that the romance is not a publicity stunt, is very serious about their future together, according to sources.
“Tom is planning to propose very soon,” an insider told Us Weekly in July. “Taylor’s totally into him,” a Swift source added. “She is so swept off her feet.”
