Caught in the act! Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston shocked fans and made headlines when they were photographed kissing and holding hands while on a romantic stroll along the coast of Rhode Island on Tuesday, June 14.
The new pair, dubbed “HiddleSwift” by approving fans, could hardly keep their hands off each other during their daytime smooch-fest on the beach.
“They were all over each other — hugging and kissing — even though there were 20 people coming and going on the beach,” an eyewitness told The Sun. “They looked like any young couple madly in love without a care in the world.”
In the photos, Swift, 26, and Hiddleston, 35, kept warm in a burnt orange sweater and navy blue jacket, respectively. At one point during their outing, however, the British actor doffed his jacket and offered it to the “Wildest Dream” singer.
Both celebs wore dark sunglasses to shield their eyes from the bright rays reflecting off the water.
At one point, Hiddleston even helped Swift cross over the rocks by holding onto her hands, which she had wrapped around his waist.
“Tom checks off a lot of boxes. He’s hot, smart, talented, British, blond, everything she’s into. What’s not to like?” a pal of the Grammy winner told Us. “She’s going with it, and why shouldn’t she? They have been bonding over the industry, their childhoods, where they are from. It’s the getting-to-know-you phase. Taylor is just happy to have the time to meet someone new and move on from Calvin.”
Swift and her ex Calvin Harris called it quits on their nearly 15-month relationship just a few weeks prior, and a source close to the DJ-producer tells Us that Harris is surprised by Swift’s new beau.
“Calvin was surprised to see the photos and that she had moved on so quickly,” the source tells Us. “That was fast! It was surprising to him but he just wants to move on. He’s a really good guy.”
In fact, when photographers caught up with Harris, 32, in a parking garage in Beverly Hills on Thursday, June 16, the “This Is What You Came For” DJ was all smiles.
“Any comment on Taylor and Tom, Calvin?” one cameraman asked. “Is everything going to be OK between you two?”
“All good,” he said with a smile. “[She’s] just doing her thing.”
