The commercial was a perfect 10. The U.S. women’s gymnastics team had tongues wagging after their explosive Under Armour ad, which showcased their unbelievable strength and tireless dedication.

The commercial, which quickly went viral after being dropped online on February 23, prominently featured Olympic hopefuls Madison Kocian, Maggie Nichols and MyKayla Skinner.

“I don’t think we really realized how big the commercial really was when we were shooting it. I think we were just like, ‘Cool! We’re in an Under Armour shoot!’ But now, seeing how much success it got, it’s so cool,” 18-year-old Nichols exclusively tells Us Weekly. “It was very long hours for two days, but it was a ton of fun and it was a new experience, and it just felt pretty cool doing it.”

The spot, which featured the tagline, “It’s what you do in the dark that puts you in the light,” showed what goes on before the sparkly leotards are put on in front of huge cheering crowds.

“It really shows all of what we do that goes into it, and all the hours and everything behind all this,” 18-year-old Kocian tells Us Weekly. “Most of the fans just see the competitions and I guess you could say the easier part, just because the training is just so much harder.”

Six months before the 2016 Olympic Games, when the names of the women on the U.S. gymnastics team will be known around the world, the girls also got a small taste of fame.

“A lot of people from my school and people I know were taking pictures of the TV screen when they saw it and were like, ‘Hey, that’s you!’” Nichols said. “It’s kind of cool that I’m getting some recognition.”
