Prelude. New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz posted about giving God “all the glory” a day before his cheating scandal erupted on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

While Cruz, 28, has remained silent on Twitter since the infidelity revelation, the NFL player has posted several sponsored updates via Instagram. His two latest posts promote his upcoming shoe collaboration as well as a contest. However, this past Monday, Oct. 5, Cruz — who is currently injured and itching to make a comeback — shared a more personal snap of himself alone and pensive on the field.

“Give God all the glory and he will take care of the rest,” Cruz — who has been sidelined with a calf injury since the Giants’ season opener — captioned the photo. “In Due Time.”

A day after his post, it was revealed — via shocking screenshots of a group text conversation initiated by Cruz’s fiancee, Elaina Watley — that the Super Bowl XLVI champ had cheated.

In the message, Watley wrote to the group: “Hello ladies, this is elaina Victor cruz’s fiancée. You all know about me and I seem to be the topic of conversations with vic. I’m sure he’s told you many of things about us and how we don’t exist but given the fact that you all meet him in hotel rooms only, we all know that’s a lie, just as he tells me you all are whores and mean nothing to him.”

Cruz met his fiancee in high school back in 2003. The couple, who got engaged in July 2014, share a 3-year-old daughter.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Us Weekly further confirmed that Watley had indeed sent a group text to Cruz’s alleged mistress. One of the women with whom Cruz has been in touch told Us that she confronted the star football player about the texts, though she didn’t receive any herself.

“I sent it to him and asked him what it was about and he said, ‘Exactly what it reads,'” the woman, who lives in Texas and never met Cruz in person, told Us.
