Frank and Louie, the world’s oldest Janus (two-faced) cat, died at the age of 15 at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuft’s University in Medford, Mass., on Thursday, Dec. 4.
The Telegram reports that the feline’s owner, Ms. Stevens, brought the cat into the clinic when she noticed it was sick. Doctors euthanized her pet after a few days, explaining that it had a “really bad cancer.”
Frank and Louie became the oldest living Janus cat at 12 years old, earning him a Guinness World Record spot. He was also featured on Animal Planet a few years ago.
Ms. Stevens is distraught about her loss, but knew going in that two-faced kitties usually die young. In fact, she would “love to” own another in the future.
