Zac Efron and Dylan Efron clearly have an enviable brotherly bond, which even extends to the high seas.
“Taking it easy ☀️,” Dylan, 34, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, September 9, sharing a snapshot as he and Zac, 38, lounged shirtless on the back of a boat cruising in a crystal-clear body of water.
The brothers also went wakeboarding during their lake trip, as well as played a round of golf. Their washboard abs, of course, stole the show from social media followers.
“My aunt Tammy is on this app chill,” Taylor Lautner jokingly replied, while NFL alum Lonie Paxton added, “Take it easy bros. Save some for the rest of us.”
Survivor alum Mitch Guerra, for his part, added, “The boys are thrivin’.”
Zac is the older brother of Dylan, who has since become a fan-favorite in his own right following a solo stint on The Traitors season 3. Zac and Dylan also have two younger half-siblings, Henry and Olivia.
“I just think back and my brother was such a good brother to me and I want to be that for them,” Dylan exclusively told Us in 2023, referring to Henry and Olivia. “I like thinking what they think of me and I want to be that presence for them.”
Dylan and Zac’s bond has continued in adulthood. Dylan even produced Zac’s Down to Earth docuseries to learn more about various food, culture and sustainable living practices.

“I love doing stuff with my brother. There’s a really comforting thing being with family [and] doing this stuff,” he gushed to Us at the time. “That’s always going to be high up there on what I love to do. But I think it’s good that we do things separately too because I remember back in the day, we wanted to do a show together and I really wouldn’t have been prepared for that. He’s been in front of the camera his whole life and it’s been second nature for him. I was a shy little kid, so I’ve had to grow into that.”
When Dylan stepped out of his comfort zone as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars season 34 last year, he had Zac’s complete support.
“It means everything. I grew up watching him do stuff like this,” Dylan told Entertainment Tonight in November 2025 after the semifinals. “Looking over, my family’s there, my girlfriend [Courtney King]. Just seeing all of them together, that’s my support.”
Zac was present during the semifinals’ tribute to Prince, enthusiastically clapping after Dylan received his scores. The High School Musical star, however, quickly went viral when fans thought he asked the brothers’ mom if Dylan’s score was good.
“I thought it was funny, but then Zac was like, ‘Oh no.’ He’s like, ‘They’re misinterpreting it,’” Dylan recalled on the Smith Sisters Live in December 2025. “I can’t remember what he was saying, but I think he said that he thought it was a really good dance. So he is like, ‘Is that the highest score they would give?’ I think he was more like, ‘That should have been higher or something like that,’ but … Zac got defensive. He is like, ‘No, they misinterpreted what I meant.’”
Dylan ultimately lost DWTS to Robert Irwin.
