The couple, who announced their separation in October 2017, have faced off in court ever since over various issues related to custody of their daughters — Sophie, Stella and Adeline — and finances.

The pair called it quits in October 2017 after 17 years of marriage. “After much thought and careful consideration, David and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” the Real Housewives of Orange County star told BravoTV.com at the time. “We remain partners in parenthood and are committed to raising our three daughters. This is not the future we envisioned, and we kindly ask for privacy, especially for our children, during this transitional period.”

Shannon, who spoke out about David’s infidelity on RHOC season 10, filed for divorce in December 2017. The exes tried to make their relationship work through therapy and by renewing their vows, as documented on the hit Bravo show, but they ultimately split.

In March 2018, David claimed in court documents previously obtained by Us Weekly that Shannon was “not fostering or encouraging a healthy father-child relationship” and therefore, he was seeking joint legal custody and 50 percent physical custody of their daughters.

David’s girlfriend, Lesley Cook, weighed in on the drama in March 2018 and defended her man. “David is an absolutely amazing dad. … His daughters are the absolute light in his life and he loves them so much,” Cook exclusively told Us at the time. “The girls will always come first. I just want to speak out on David’s behalf because of all these negative things I have been reading about him being a bad dad.”

Shannon exclusively revealed to Us in July 2018 that she started dipping her feet back in the dating pool, but it’s “awkward, especially when you get set up with someone. It’s all new, so new, but it’s kind of exciting at the same time.”

The reality star and the businessman made contrasting claims about each other’s income in October 2018. David claimed that Shannon makes $65,000 a month and he brings in $20,000 monthly, according to documents obtained by Us, but Shannon countered that she earns $30,235 monthly compared to David’s $108,168 monthly earnings.

David went after Shannon in December 2018 by filing a request for an order prohibiting her from consuming alcohol eight hours before or during her time with their children. “The mother has publicly stated on television within the last month, she ‘self-medicates’ with alcohol,” he said in documents obtained by Us at the time. “That behavior is detrimental to the children.”

In response to David’s aforementioned request, Shannon told the court her ex had mischaracterized her comments on RHOC. “The Respondent is deeply angry with me and was looking to hurt and embarrass me,” she wrote in court documents obtained by Us Weekly in December 2018. “His Request for Order was apparently designed to attract media attention and assert control.”

A source told Us Weekly exclusively in December 2018 that Shannon is “frustrated” and “just wants this divorce to be over” after David filed the order to prevent the Bravo star from drinking around their kids. “He is dragging it out and doing whatever he can so he doesn’t have to pay her out.”

E News! reported in April 2019 that Shannon and David’s divorce was officially finalized. The Bravo star seemingly celebrated the news with costar Gina Kirschenheiter. "A tough day that ended in celebration and I ran into this friend..." Shannon captioned a selfie of the two women on Instagram. The details of Shannon and David’s divorce will remain private.

On April 25, 2019, a judge ordered David to pay his ex-wife $10,000 per month in combined child and spousal support payments, plus a one-time payment of $1.4 million to equalize their property in their divorce settlement.
