Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz claimed that her husband, Kristopher Karolkiewicz, underwent a plastic surgery procedure despite her not being able to afford her own in a Reddit post shared two years before he killed her and their six kids in am apparent murder-suicide.
In a Reddit 2024 Reddit post, Mandy, 39, responded to another Reddit user who inquired about getting a breast reduction and said she was willing to travel for the procedure.
“I’m in West Michigan, and last year was quoted ~$7500 at Muskegon Surgical Associates for a reduction,” she wrote. “I didn’t do it yet as I worked to lose some weight first, and I don’t have the extra income yet, but for the price difference, it would be a lot easier to travel to Michigan (or another state) from NY than over seas.”
After the Reddit user asked about her experience with the consultation, Mandy explained that Kristopher, 47, actually had a procedure done at the practice.
“My husband had his upper blephs done a couple months ago there with Dr Terlouw and had a great experience,” she wrote. “I met with both him and the Nurse Practitioner for consultation and they were wonderful.”
An upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin, muscle and small amounts of fat from the upper eyelids. The procedure is often done to fix drooping or hooded eyelids, as well as to create a more rested look.
Mandy shared that Kristopher had work done around the same time she admitted in another Reddit post that his past affair with an intern caused her to view herself in a negative light.
“I was five babies in, and was actually not in bad physical shape, but I was in the trenches of little kids, and just couldn’t be who I was before,” she wrote.
After noting that the affair made her feel insecure, she said she spent Kristopher’s work bonus to get Botox, an Invisalign, hair extensions and new clothes so that she could feel “pretty.”
Mandy also said that she “lost tons of weight during the aftermath” of the affair, but “never felt better” and “still internally blamed myself for not being ‘enough’ of what he wanted.’”
Mandy also reflected on the affair and said she was still upset with the other woman for cheating with her husband.
“Forgiveness took me years,” she wrote regarding her feelings toward her husband. “To be honest, I haven’t forgiven [her] 4.5 years later. I hate her with every fiber of my being and she should be worried if she ever ended up in the same room as me.”
Mandy said it was “frustrating” the other woman “caused so much trauma” for her, but “got off scot-free.” She then said she wished she “could witness her pain” and that “karma hit her hard.”
The posts resurfaced online after Kristopher, Mandy and their six children died inside of their Michigan home on Friday, July 24. Authorities confirmed that Kristopher fatally shot Amanda and the children and he then set their home fire as part of an apparent murder-suicide.
