Lindsay Clancy‘s attorney, Kevin Reddington, asked the court to allow for a thorough investigation of holdout juror Michael Péguy Desronvil after his vote prevented the jury from finding the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity.
Reddington filed a document in court in which he asked Judge William Sullivan to let his team see the holdout juror’s questionnaire and “Juror Doe’s record from the statewide domestic violence registry,” according to TMZ.
The attorney also asked for the juror’s mobile phone records, including calls, texts and data from when the jury deliberations took place between August 27 through September 4.
Clancy’s case was declared a mistrial on September 4 after the jury was deadlocked 11-1 and unable to come to a unanimous verdict after she was on trial for killing her kids Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023.
Clancy, 36, never denied killing her children, but Reddington argued throughout the trial that she should not be held criminally responsible due to her experience with postpartum psychosis. Meanwhile, the prosecution argued she was aware of the crime she committed and should be held criminally responsible.
After the case ended in a mistrial, several of the jurors came forward to open up about their experience during the trial and deliberations.
Meanwhile, Desronvil, 48 came under fire when it was revealed that he had legal issues in the past. As Us previously reported, Desronvil was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence assault in 2021 following an incident with his then-wife. His 13-year-old nephew called 911 to report the alleged attack, claiming that he saw Desronvil grab his wife by the throat and throw her against a dresser. The charges against Desronvil were later dropped.
Desronvil’s legal issues continued in 2025 when the same nephew obtained a restraining order against him after he allegedly pushed the teen to the ground and punched him in the face on several occasions.
He was ordered to surrender any firearms, as well as to stay away from his nephew until August 11 as part of a civil protection order.
While Desronvil initially chose to keep his identity private, his attorney, Edward Paltzik, issued a statement via X to praise his client for being the holdout juror and to share an update about his whereabouts.
Paltzik said in the September 17 statement that Desronvil, who is from Plymouth County, Massachusetts, is “presently safe and sound at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England.”
“This American Hero and Champion of Justice loves the United States of America as the greatest country in the world; cherishes our sacred Constitution as the pinnacle of human liberty; and supports our amazing leader, President Donald J. Trump, as a fellow defender of common-sense, liberty, and sanity,” Paltzik wrote.
The attorney added that he will go “to the maximum extent of the law and beyond” against “the evil people who have so viciously attacked” his client following the trial. (Desronvil has received death threats and was doxxed following the trial).
“In the meantime, though, he has persevered and remains utterly unbroken thanks to his devout Catholic Faith,” the statement said. “As a devoted father and man of God, he will not be defeated or shattered by the wicked who wish harm upon him.”
