Following the release of Netflix’s Maternal Instinct, TikTok influencer Reesa Teesa has weighed in on Taylor Parker’s crimes and even compared the felon to her ex-husband, Jerome “Legion” McCoy.

Just days after Maternal Instinct was released on June 12, Teesa, 41, took to TikTok to admit that the film “triggered” her.

Teesa, who went viral in February 2024 for her 50-part TikTok series titled “Who TF Did I Marry?” about her relationship with a pathological liar, explained that her ex-husband lied to her about things that “threw me in a tailspin to the point where I have thousands of dollars in therapy bills” and she’s “still working through it.”

After noting that she wasn’t familiar with Parker’s crimes before she watched Maternal Instinct, she said that she found herself “screaming at the TV” and “screaming at poor” Wade Griffin and his family.

In January 2020, Parker, 33, lied to partner Griffin and claimed she was pregnant. Just over two weeks past her September 22 due date, Parker killed her pregnant friend Reagan Simmons-Hancock on October 9, 2020, cut the baby, umbilical cord and placenta out of her body and claimed the child was hers.

The scheme did not last long, and Parker was arrested for Simmons-Hancock and her child’s murders just hours after doctors realized she had not given birth.

“I can relate to 90 percent of what happened in that documentary and I’m going to tell you, anyone out there, if you think that compulsive liars, habitual liars, pathological liars do not exist, baby, watch Maternal Instinct,” she said.

While Teesa said she had sympathy for Griffin and his family after they stated that they should’ve known better to not fall for Parker’s lies, the social media creator said she’s “past the whole beating myself up stage of ‘I should’ve known.’”

“They said in that documentary, for every question they asked her, she already had, you know, an answer,” Teesa said of Parker. “For me, as someone who has lived it, it was probably one of the few times that I watched a Netflix documentary and I found myself having to pause it to kind of get my mind together because it changes you.”

While Teesa acknowledged that she doesn’t know Griffin personally, she wishes him “all the best because he will never be the same” after his experience with Parker.

“If you watch the documentary and you hear my story, there are similarities. It is still very different, but there are similarities are you’ll understand why I’m like, ‘This s*** triggered me,’” she concluded.

Following Parker’s arrest, she was convicted of capital murder and kidnapping in October 2022. Parker was sentenced to death and is currently the youngest woman in Texas on death row.
