Figure skater Amber Glenn is sharing the helpful advice Danielle Fishel gave her about cha-chaing alongside professional dancer and choreographer Pasha Pashkov.
“She’s such a sweetheart, and of course it’s, like, what advice?” Glenn, 26, exclusively told Us after Dancing With the Stars’ Super Bowl Night on Tuesday, October 13. “Trust Pasha and enjoy. That’s, like, the No. 1 thing you can do.”
During season 34 of ABC’s reality competition show, Fishel, 45, and Pashkov, 40, finished in 8th place after being eliminated during Rock & Roll Night.
The Boy Meets World actress has stayed in touch with her dancing partner and attended Tuesday’s taping to cheer on Glenn and Pashkov.
“It was great to see her. She told me she’s coming,” Pashkov told Us. “She was very excited. We message each other all the time. She was very supportive. She texts me all the time, messages me after every show. She’s been incredible.”
Fishel had a front-row seat to a night of special performances as DWTS transformed the ballroom into a football stadium.
Both Glenn and Pashkov danced the samba to “Mi Gente” by J Balvin and Willy William. They received a combined score of 34 out of 40 from Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Joe Buck.
“I was genuinely so excited about how the performance went,” Pashkov told Us when reacting to his first 9 of the season. “Someone’s like, ‘These are your first 9s.’ I was like, ‘Oh right, we got the 9.’ I was just very, very happy with how the performance went. It went smooth. Everything that we worked on worked out. You showed up. You showed out. It was incredible.”
Glenn replied, “I don’t think we even noticed. We were just so in the moment after the performance.”
As the pair continue to receive support from Fishel and viewers voting every week from home, Glenn is especially thankful for the bond she has created with fellow contestant Maura Higgins.
According to the Olympic athlete, it’s been “really sweet” having another girl “really back me up.”
“We’ve had overlapping schedules, so we just kind of talk about our experiences,” she explained. “I’m an athlete by nature. I have to wear boots all the time, so I’m like, ‘Hey, I know how to help with those blisters or what to do.’ And her performance skills are off the charts. I’m like, ‘How do you give that look, that cat eye? It’s so awesome.’ To be able to bond with someone like that has been really special.”
Glenn added, “I’ve been so focused on training for so long, so to now be amongst different people from different walks of life has been a really cool experience.”
