Seth Meyers had one really, really incredible reunion on Wednesday, June 24. The Saturday Night Live alum, 41, interrupted his regular Late Night monologue to bring out none other than longtime pal and former Weekend Update co-anchor, Amy Poehler.
The two hilarious stars reunited to dust off their beloved Really!?! segment from their SNL days in honor of one particularly unbelievable news story.
“The Women’s World Cup is headed into the quarterfinal round and yesterday, an editor for Sports Illustrated‘s website tweeted a Vine of England’s go-ahead goal against Norway with the words, ‘And here some people (ahem, @Andy_Benoit) argue that women’s soccer isn’t worth watching,’ to which Sports Illustrated contributor Andy Benoit responded, ‘Not women’s soccer… women’s sports in general not worth watching,'” Meyers explained.
Much to his New York City studio audience’s delight, Meyers then added, “That brings us to a segment we like to call ‘Really!?! With Seth and Amy.'”
Poehler, 43, joined her friend behind the desk to give her two cents on just how absurd Benoit’s words were.
“Really!?!” she pondered. “Really. Really, Andy Benoit, there’s nothing in women’s sports worth watching? I think a lot of people would love to watch you say that to Serena Williams. Really?”
