It’s no bon voyage for Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn in their new comedy, Snatched, about a mother and daughter who get kidnapped while on a trip to South America. Watch the film’s first trailer above!
Fresh off a breakup from her rocker boyfriend (Randall Park), Emily (Schumer) drags her super cautious mom on a vacation to Ecuador in the hope that they’ll both learn to live a little. A crazy night out with a hot stranger ensues and shortly thereafter the pair fall into the hands of a group of kidnappers.
The trailer packs in plenty of Trainwreck-level raunch: An unfortunate play on the word “welcome” kicks it off, and a bartender assures Schumer and Hawn that they won’t become sex slaves, since they look like “melted candles.” While Schumer had the sole writing credit on her previous hit, 2015’s Trainwreck, Katie Dippold, who cowrote this summer’s Ghostbusters reboot, wrote the jokes this time around.
The film which also features Hawn taking a flying leap between buildings, is the first major motion picture role for the 71-year-old since 2002’s The Banger Sisters.
The red-band trailer arrives almost two months after Schumer, 35, dropped her controversial parody on Tidal of Beyoncé’s “Formation.” That video, which featured Schumer and Hawn singing Bey’s tune in a jungle, was shot while the actresses were on the set of the film.
Snatched will be released on Mother’s Day weekend, on May 12, 2017. Watch the trailer above!
