Perhaps this is the reason no previous Bachelor has ever told two women that he loves them. Ben Higgins has had a tough time processing his strong feelings for both Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher on this season of The Bachelor — and it turns out that his winner wasn’t thrilled about his strong bond with the runner-up.
A source tells Us Weekly exclusively that Higgins’ final pick had not been a regular viewer of season 20 but watched the February 29 fantasy-suites episode when it aired. The episode showed the Denver-based software salesman, 26, professing his love to both Bushnell, 25, and Fletcher, 24. He proposes to one of them in the finale on Monday, March 14.
“Ben had told [the winner] about [his I love yous], but seeing it is a lot harder than hearing it,” the source says.
The insider adds that the fantasy-suite episode made things “weird” between Higgins and his fiancée, who was “angry and sad” to learn that Higgins professed his love to another gal. And the Bachelor now regrets giving “so much assurance” to the eventual runner-up, according to the source.
Previously released clips from the highly anticipated finale show Higgins revealing that the decision process has made him “sick,” along with him calling out Fletcher for a “loaded question.”

All will be revealed when The Bachelor‘s season 20 finale airs on ABC on Monday, March 14, at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the live After the Final Rose special at 10 p.m. ET.
