Taking time to stop and smell the roses? Bachelor Nation favorites Emily and Haley Ferguson tell Us Weekly exclusively that they don’t expect Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell to be sending out save-the-dates in the near future.
Emily and Haley, who appear on Freeform’s Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? on Tuesday, November 15, tell Us that the Bachelor season 20 lovebirds are in no rush to head down the aisle. Promos for this week’s episode show Higgins, 28, and Bushnell, 26, enduring a tense couples counseling session, with the flight attendant in tears at one point. (As fans know, the pair got engaged during the Bachelor finale that aired in March.)
“I think Ben and Lauren will get married when they’re ready,” Emily says. “I think right now they need some time to just get to know each other outside of the cameras and outside of the spotlight, just kind of do their own thing. So I think it will take some time.”
Haley concurs: “I think Ben and Lauren will for sure get married eventually — I just don’t think it will be anytime soon.”
The 24-year-old Las Vegas–based twins — who offer lifestyle and beauty tips on their blog, Blondesense 702 — developed a close friendship with Nick Viall on Bachelor in Paradise season 3. They haven’t had a chance to chat with the two-time Bachelorette runner-up since he started filming The Bachelor season 21, but they’re confident his fourth go-round with the ABC dating franchise will be the charm.
“I think we’re really hopeful that Nick is gonna find love — he’s so deserving,” Emily says. She then quips about the 36-year-old, “And I mean, he’s getting old — he really needs to find somebody. So if he doesn’t find somebody this time around, Haley and I are really going to have to sit down and have a real deep conversation.”
What about their own love lives? Emily and Haley — who agree that they would be open to starring as co-Bachelorettes if the opportunity came up — are both in relationships, and their two lucky guys are not from Bachelor Nation. However, it’s clear they have high standards when it comes to who should be spending time with the other.
“Obviously, I don’t like everything about the guy that Haley’s dating, but I think … he’s good for her, and it’ll work,” Emily says. “I think we’re accepting of each other’s guys, so that’s all that matters.”
Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? airs on Freeform Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. The Bachelor season 21 premieres on ABC Monday, January 2, at 8 p.m. ET.
