Big Brother’s Zakiyah Everette Teases What’s Next for Her and Paulie Calafiore: ‘You Never Know What Can Happen’ (Exclusive)

She’s not cutting ties just yet. Zakiyah Everette has left the Big Brother house, but her heart might still be with Paulie Calafiore. The latest evicted houseguest, who was sent to the jury house on August 11, revealed exclusively to Us Weekly if she thinks the former showmance duo will keep in touch.

“Outside of the house I think he has potential,” Everette, 24, said, keeping mum on whether she wants them to be more than platonic. “You never know what can happen.”

The preschool teacher and Calafiore, 27, have had plenty of ups and downs in season 18. The pair started off as allies and cuddle buddies, but the romance abruptly stopped when Calafiore distanced himself and called her too clingy. Nevertheless, he wanted her to stay instead of Michelle Meyer and was blindsided when his castmates flipped the vote.

“With every action with Paulie I feel like it was simply strategic,” Zakiyah tells Us. “I had a roller coaster with Paulie in the house, but I think the game had a lot to do with it.”

The rocky relationship got even bumpier when Natalie Negrotti told Zakiyah that Paulie was flirting with her. Natalie, of course, is in a showmance with James Huling while the third coupling is Nicole Franzel and Corey Brooks.

“I was clearly upset by the things that Natalie was telling me. I believed a lot of it, but the timing was suspect. I think she had ulterior motives telling me then,” Zakiyah says. “I think Nicole and Corey will make it far. James and Natalie won’t. Nicole and Corey are low-key, and they stay out of the radar. Natalie and James cause issues. I have the most respect for Nicole and Corey. They actually keep their word.”

US WEEKLY: What would you have done differently in the game?

ZAKIYAH EVERETTE: I wouldn’t change anything. I feel like I had a great social game, but I wasn’t the best at comps. If anything, I wish I could have improved on those.

US: What’s your biggest regret?

ZE: I have no regrets. I had a good social game, and I feel like I made it pretty far.

US: Did you feel blindsided by your eviction?

ZE: No, I did not feel blindsided by the vote. I think it was supposed to be a blindside, but I had a feeling. Paulie was the only one who didn’t know, and that is why he freaked out.

US: What do you think of Michelle as a player? Are the houseguests getting tired of her emotional breakdowns?

ZE: The cast is definitely annoyed by how emotional she is. She is a loose cannon and says whatever is on her mind. That annoys people. I can’t say I respect her game.

The next Big Brother airs on CBS Wednesday, August 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
