Christine Brown Woolley’s husband, David Woolley, has thoughts about her ex Kody Brown walking away from Sister Wives.
“I can understand why he quit ‘cause he quit on you guys,” David, 62, told Christine, 54, in a Wednesday, October 7, TikTok video, referring to Kody’s other former wives Meri Brown and Janelle Brown. “He also quit on the kids to not really fulfill his obligations as a father and a husband. He had an obligation, and he didn’t fulfill it.”
Kody, 57, is a father of 18 from his respective marriages to Meri, 55, Janelle, 57, Christine and Robyn Brown and is now estranged from many of his children. (Kody divorced Meri in 2014 in order to legally marry Robyn, 47, and adopt her three children from a previous relationship.)
Christine separated from Kody in 2021, eventually marrying David in 2023. Janelle and Meri, meanwhile, each announced the end of their spiritual marriages with Kody in late 2022 and early 2023, respectively. While Kody is now in a monogamous relationship with Robyn, the couple left Sister Wives ahead of season 21.
“I didn’t expect anything differently,” David noted of Kody’s reality TV departure. “People talk about money-wise, and that’s 10 million reasons why, and we still don’t know [Kody’s reason]. My opinion? They didn’t want to handle it anymore, just done [and] they didn’t want to deal with you guys. That’s a lot.”
Kody and Robyn have not publicly addressed their reason for walking away from Sister Wives, though Christine herself has a theory.

“I felt like after he couldn’t control us anymore, that’s when he was like, ‘I’m out,’” she speculated, which David agreed adding, “One he was done milking the cow, as they would call, … and no longer could control the cow, where they can stay and what they can do, there we go. It’s [a] done deal. Moved on.”
Before cameras picked up for season 21, Kody revealed where he stood with his exes during their season 20 tell-all reunion.
“When I have sorted this out long enough, this idea that the illusion of betrayal in divorce or the illusion of betrayal in relationships, maybe I’ll be OK. But I am not there yet,” the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test alum said in the February episode. “I want all the hurt to end. I want everybody to move on. I want everybody to feel free and I’ll move on with forgiveness.”
As for his exes, Christine and Janelle noted at the time that they had moved on with Meri also hoping to find forgiveness down the line. Robyn, for her part, has remained in her spouse’s corner.
“I think I’m fine,” she stated at the time. “Forgiveness is a very personal experience and journey. It’s not so much about the other person, it’s about yourself.”
