Ciara Miller remains unbothered by any and all critics who didn’t always agree with her opinions on Love Island USA: Aftersun.
“I think people know I’m not a quiet person, and I definitely am very opinionated,” Ciara, 30, exclusively shares with Us while helping CELSIUS launch the SPRITZ VIBE Summer Edition. “I think people have maybe thought that I didn’t see things or I didn’t have an opinion, but no. I’ve kind of gotten to the point where I’m just like, ‘F*** that! F*** it.’ I’m gonna say my opinion. I’m putting it on Threads.”
While the Summer House star understands that Love Island USA fans can get passionate about who couples up, it’s important to “come correct.”
“I’m down to have a conversation. Let’s talk about it,” she says. “I feel like I’m slowly finding my way through the Threads algorithm and world, and also Instagram and everything like that.”
Back in June, Ciara spoke out after receiving criticism for some of her responses on Love Island USA: Aftersun.
“You guys need to f***ing relax,” Ciara wrote via Threads on June 27. “We film for 6 hours. Perspectives get left on the cutting room floor. I could psychoanalyze all of LI for hours and write a dissertation on black people/colorism on reality TV. Don’t talk to me about how I ‘fail’ to see any person of color’s perspective or how I need more ‘empathy.’ I’ve quite literally lived it.”
When looking back on the season as a whole, Ciara can’t help but celebrate all the positive experiences she had filming with her cohost Tefi Pessoa and meeting the Love Island USA season 8 cast.
Ciara loved her summer job so much that she hopes to come back next season.
“I feel like the Islanders, they’re my little brothers, my little sisters,” she said. “At the same time, I’m the same age as some of them and a couple years apart from some of them, but I feel like those are my babies! It was such a fun experience and now [I get] to see them navigate the real world with their couples.”
Although Love Island USA may be over for the summer, Ciara’s schedule remains jam-packed. In addition to prepping for Dancing With the Stars, the reality star is trying to stay energized with CELSIUS.
The beverage company is bringing back its seasonal VIBE collection with an all-new Sparkling Limoncello Twist inspired by the refreshing taste of an Italian summer.
“I have so much to prep for and I feel like I need all the help I can get,” Ciara says. “Literally, I just got up out of a stretching class, had the Celsius Limoncello Twist with me. I feel like it’s the perfect flavor for summer. I love a summer spritz.”
