It’s the celebrity event of the year. Grammy award-winning music star Taylor Swift is reportedly scheduled to be married to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on Friday, July 3, in New York City.
Their wedding venue was only recently revealed to take place in Madison Square Garden, but did Kelce, 36, drop a hint about the location months ago before anyone speculated where and when it was taking place?
That’s what eagle-eyed viewers of Kelce’s sports podcast show, “New Heights,” believe they saw in two clips from the show in late May. TikToker shannon.boyle2 posted a compilation of two clips of Kelce expressing his love for the historic venue to his brother and cohost, Jason Kelce.

“MSG, I’ve always wanted to go to MSG,” Travis confessed in a video clip from the May 20 episode. A week later, on May 27, Travis backed up that love by saying, “I’ve always wondered what MSG was like when it was rockin’.”
Travis won’t have to wait too long to find out. His wedding to Swift, 36, is reportedly underway. And his love for Madison Square Garden might be shared by his bride-to-be. Swift is a huge fan of late silver screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, going so far as to name one of her songs after the Oscar-winning actress on her last album, The Life of a Showgirl.
And Taylor was at the center of her own lavish party at MSG in 1957, when then-husband Mike Todd threw an elaborate party at the venue. According to The New York Times, the showman brought 12 elephants, 400 journalists, 25,000 hot dogs and 36,000 doughnuts to the party. While Todd invited over 18,000 guests to his party, Swift’s wedding is a little less crowded, with a reported 1,000 guests, including Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper and more.
Preparations for the couple’s wedding at MSG have ramped up significantly in the last couple of weeks. On June 30, photos revealed that a red carpet was installed outside the steps of MSG. On Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, 30, People published footage of a truck unloading a carton with the word “Mirroball” written on it. The Daily Mail also published photos of audio equipment being moved inside the venue. Whatever is happening on June 3, it looks like Travis will get his wish to see a “rockin’” Madison Square Garden.
