Well, it was fun while it lasted!

Los Angeles Lakers player Ron "Metta World Peace" Artest was forced to hang up his dancing shoes when he became the first celebrity to get the boot on Dancing With the Stars' 13th season Tuesday.

Voted into the bottom three along with Rob Kardashian and Nancy Grace, Artest (partnered with Peta Murgatroyd) failed to impress the judges and viewers with his cha cha. Out of 12 couples, it was Artest and Murgatroyd who earned the lowest score: 14 out of 30 points.

"It was sexy, but wrong for all the technical reasons," judge Carrie Ann Inaba admitted after Artest, 31, performed on Monday's premiere.

Added Len Goodman, who gave the athlete a score of four out of 10: "It was all sizzle and no sausage."

Despite getting the boot Tuesday, Artest — who legally changed his name to "Metta World Peace" Sept. 16 — was in high spirits.

"Peta was great! She was awesome," Artest enthused before encouraging the ballroom to applaud his partner. "I want to say thank you to ABC, Dancing With the Stars and Peta. I had a great time!"
