Julianne Hough earned her spot on Jan Ravnik’s infamous Dead-to-Me (DTM) list a long time ago.
“She’s trying me,” Jan, 31, joked exclusively to Us after the Tuesday, October 27, episode of Dancing With the Stars season 35. “Julianne is trying me.”
He added, “If you’re playing with me, I’m the last one who laughs, so … we’ll see about that, Julianne. Do you like surprises?”
When asked whether Julianne, 38, is on his DTM list, Jan responded, “She’s been there already for like 10 years.”
For those unfamiliar with Jan’s DTM list, the dance pro has long joked that anyone who snubs him — or even minorly inconveniences him — would end up dead to him. Several DWTS names, including Ezra Sosa, Danielle Fishel and Alfonso Ribeiro, have ended up on his list.
During Horror Movie Night on Tuesday, Jan and celebrity partner Tatyana Ali danced the paso doble to Miles Caton’s “I Lied to You” from the 2025 movie Sinners. The performance earned the duo a total score of 28 out of 40 points, including a 4 from guest judge Shirley Ballas, who criticized the lack of “recognizable” paso doble elements in the dance.
When Jan and Tatyana, 47, arrived in the sky box to chat with Julianne after the performance, the host made a joke about Jan’s special effects makeup, which depicted exposed teeth on his cheek.
“Look at that dental work, Jan,” Julianne said. “Maybe that’s why you didn’t get nominated for [People magazine’s Sexiest DWTS Pro].”
Jan did not look amused by the comment, but it’s not the first time Julianne has thrown playful banter at him. Earlier this season, the former pro asked Jan whether he planned to bring “power” to the ballroom floor “if you’re here next week.”
“We don’t have a dance that has no power, so I don’t know,” Jan responded with his signature sass.
After the slightly awkward interaction, Jan quipped to Us, “I’m gonna say, ‘Julianne, nobody’s safe. Nobody knows who’s getting fired. Maybe you will not be here next week.’ No, I’m joking.”
While chatting with Us after Horror Movie Night, Jan also shared whether Shirley, 66, would be joining Julianne on the DTM list for giving him and Tatyana a 4.
“No, no, no, no, no. She will never be,” he revealed. “I have a big respect for her. So whatever. I was expecting that something was going to happen tonight right away because we were the only ones doing Latin. We tried. I was so proud of Tatyana, the way she did it. Score was fair. Yes. And I still love her.”
