The jam-packed episode, “The Winds of Winter,” included multiple shocking deaths, the majority of them caused by Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). As GoT diehards know, Jaime Lannister’s incestuous twin blew up the sept in Kingsland, killing hundreds, including Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) and Ser Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones). The queen made sure that her son Tommen Baratheon was far from harm’s way, but after learning of the attack he killed himself. Though in mourning, Cersei ecstatically sits upon the iron throne at last.

This being Game of Thrones, the brutality and bloodshed didn’t end there. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) finally completed her vengeance to-do list when she sealed Walder Frey’s (David Bradley) fate with a special, um, meal. In disguise, she killed Frey’s sons, served them in a pie, and slit his throat.

An explosive episode of GoT wouldn’t be complete without Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington). As the Queen of Dragons, now armed with a huge, unified fleet of ships, she moved one step closer to arriving in King’s Landing to claim the throne, and the true identity of Jon Snow’s real parents was discovered by his brother, Bran Stark, in a vision. (To sister Sansa’s subtle disappointment, Jon also finally won the approval and support of his Northern allies, who anoint him ‘King of the North.’)

Viewers of the episode were obviously left shocked long after the credits rolled. “Omg Cersei. Omg aria. Omg jon snow. Omg daenarys. OMG GOT,” one fan tweeted on Sunday. A second added: “ARIA IS SUCH A SAVAGE. DAENERYS IS ABOUT TO SHOW CERSEI WHATS UP NEXT SEASON AGHHHHH #GOT.”
