Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is bringing back one of Georgie’s ex-girlfriend’s from Young Sheldon, which has some viewers worried about his relationship with Mandy.
Emily Osment recently shared a photo of herself in character as Mandy on set with Ava Allan, who played Jana on Young Sheldon.
“Well THIS can’t be good,” Osment captioned the post.
TV Line has since confirmed that Allan will appear in a December episode of the show, but details about why she is coming back are not yet known.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which premiered in 2024, picks up where Young Sheldon left off with its titular characters. After meeting during season 5 of the Big Bang Theory prequel, Georgie (Montana Jordan), who was 17 at the time, lied that he was 21, while 29-year-old Mandy pretended to be 25. Georgie and Mandy ultimately came clean — and then realized that they were expecting their first baby.
Based on the show’s title, viewers were concerned that Georgie and Mandy’s relationship wouldn’t last. (According to past episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Georgie has two ex-wives, and he runs the largest tire-selling chain in Texas, a detail that already factored into the season 1 finale when he bought McAllister Auto and Tire.)
“We all know there’s an inevitable breakup in the future. As the title says, [this is] the first marriage,” Jordan, 23, shared with Us in October 2024. “But whether we know [about] the second marriage or third marriage [is a different story].”
At the time, Jordan pointed out that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has leaned into the unknown.
“The story line is that Georgie gets married and divorced, like, two or three times. But we don’t know [about] past that. We don’t know if it’s with Mandy or with somebody else,” he said. “We have no idea. As an actor in the show, I have no idea. I don’t even know if the writers do. We’re all just going with the flow and seeing what people like.”
Osment, 34, is keeping all options open when it comes to the couple’s future.
“They really love each other. There’s no doubt about that,” she told Us in April. “And I think it’s pretty clear that they have really great chemistry, and you want them to work. We’re all hoping that the first marriage is the same to people as the second and third [marriage].”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage airs on CBS Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, and previous episodes are currently streaming on Paramount+.
