Who you gonna call? All the ghostbusters that ever were! In an amazing coming-together of old and new, the stars from the original Ghostbusters teamed up with the stars from the new movie for an unforgettable Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones were joined by none other than Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts on the Wednesday, June 8, show, for a totally awesome ghostbusting fest to celebrate the 24-year anniversary of the original film.
Even Ray Parker Jr., who sang the original theme tune, turned up to serenade the stars so they could get involved in a hilarious dance-off to the iconic music. And nobody had as much fun as Murray!
Bringing Wiig to the front of the stage, the 65-year-old groover bounded around, while the SNL star, 42, bopped along.
The other stars joined them, but while most of the celebs did some understated jigging and a bit of awkward clapping (with Akyroyd, 63, sneaking off to the back of the group), Murray made his way to the front of the gang with a huge smile on his face!
The music-loving celeb blasted out all the words from the famous theme tune, and played air drums and guitar while trying to encourage more participation from his actor pals!
Having recovered from their dancing, the cast of both movies sat down together for a combined interview, and the old ghostbusters gave the new ghostbusters their official seal of approval.
“These women are performers,” Aykroyd gushed.
“These girls did a really good job,” Murray agreed. “And I can call them ‘girls’ because I am a boy,” he added.
