“Incredible! Incredible woman, super sweet, super kind,” Rodriguez, 31, said excitedly when asked what it was like having the pop superstar, 33, on the set of the comedy-drama about a young woman who becomes pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake. “She loves the show, that’s how (it) actually ended up happening. She spoke about it in an Us Weekly interview.”

Though the world knows that Spears can rock a concert like no other, it turns out she’s pretty good at bringing the laughs as well. “She definitely got comedy chops like nobody’s business, and to go head-to-head with Jaime [Camil] is like, the ultimate challenge for a comedic actress because he’s so incredible,” the Filly Brown star said of how Spears did with Camil, who plays the main character’s father. “She held her own and more. She was very, very good!”

The actress, who plays the title character in the hit CW show, also revealed that she’s a huge fan of the “Pretty Girls” songstress. “Britney Spears was my pop star!” she gushed. “I remember just being 16 and wishing I was Britney.” Though that particular wish will never be realized, Rodriguez was thrilled to just work with Spears.

“I get to dance with her!” she enthused about the singer’s upcoming appearance on Jane the Virgin. “I won’t tell you how or what capacity, but I got to dance with her! I’m just a better person because of it. There’s a lot of my childhood that was complete yesterday.”

Rodriguez can’t spill much about Spears’ guest role (she’ll appear as herself, Rogelio’s “nemesis”), but she did tease that the sophomore season of the critically acclaimed show is going to be a good one.

“I luckily got to see some of the next season, and I think fans are going to be very proud,” the actress teased. “They’re gonna be very happy.”
