Hallmark Channel’s Nikki DeLoach Says She’s Tried to Get on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ (Exclusive)

Paging Dancing With the Stars producers: one of Hallmark’s biggest stars is interested in making moves in the ballroom.

“I sent in an audition tape. The best audition tape you have ever seen,” Nikki DeLoach exclusively shared with Us on Sunday, September 13, at the Dance Party to End ALZ event benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. “I’m not joking. I don’t talk about myself like this. It was phenomenal. I have never been more surprised at not getting a job in my life, ever in my life. So you know what, Dancing With the Stars, your loss.”

Fellow Hallmark star Ashley Williams called the missed opportunity a “big mistake” before expressing hope that her BFF could get a chance on a future season.

“You know what? This isn’t over. This isn’t Dancing with the Stars’ only season,” Williams, 47, joked. “Y’all are gonna come crawling back, and we’re gonna enjoy every second of it. And the answer will be yes.”

DeLoach, 47, added, “I would have crushed. You could have gotten all of it.”

All jokes aside, both DeLoach and Williams were honored to bring their dance moves — and extended Hallmark Channel family — to the Avalon in Hollywood for an unforgettable PJ-themed party.

The energetic and inspiring event supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s research grant program, raising critical funds to advance scientific breakthroughs.

Guests were invited to pack their fuzzy slippers and dance the night away with their favorite Hallmark stars — all while raising funds for an important cause.

“My sister, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, founded the Dance Party for Alzheimer’s in 2016, and a couple years after that, she asked me if I would take over,” Ashley recalled to Us. “She said, ‘Well, you don’t have to do it alone.’ And immediately, I called Nikki, and halfway through asking, she said, ‘Yes! I’m in.’”

It’s another example of the pair’s admirable friendship that is centered on showing up and being present for one another.

“Here’s the thing about friendship. Family is blood. They have to be your family. You choose friends, and then for me, my friends are my family,” DeLoach explained. “They are the ones that I call when I’m sad, when I’m upset. …  I would not be standing on my two feet without my girlfriends, and especially this one.”

While DWTS may have its cast set for season 35, several Hallmark stars nominated their friends for future editions.

“I was gonna say Nikki,” Andrew Walker told Us on Sunday. “Nikki should do it.”

Melissa Peterman recommended Walker, 47, because, “He’s got charisma. I think he’s got moves. There’s swagger there.”
