Time of Death

Enoch, 27, wasn’t told that his character would die until about six episodes into production on the season, so he was definitely surprised. “It’s all good,” he tells Us. “It was clear to me that it was about the character. I realized how it worked in the story, and that’s what we’re doing here.”

His castmates didn’t take the news as well as he did, though! Enoch explains, “People [on set] were upset! It was sad! Being on the show together, we’ve all been through a lot together. We’re like a family! … But hey, that’s that. Someone had to get murdered!”

What About That Immunity Deal?

As we said, Wes had signed a very mysterious immunity deal before he died, but what exactly was he agreeing to in exchange for his freedom? Creator Pete Nowalk wouldn’t tell Us definitively, but he does promise we’ll “find out more” about the deal.

“I think you only sign the immunity deal and then tell them things. …There’s a lot of blank spots,” Nowalk tells Us slyly. When pressed on whether there is any way to know if Wes took the fall for anything, the producer adds, “There’s no way to know that yet! But that’s a good theory!”

There were several hours in between Wes leaving the police station and being found dead after the explosion, but Nowalk won’t reveal if that means Wes was murdered or not. “The question for the rest of the season is who killed him,” he explains.

And That Explosion …

Nowalk says that not only will future episodes reveal more details about the explosion, but fans of Enoch’s can rest assured they will continue to see the actor throughout the second half of the season. “He’s still here,” Nowalk says of Enoch. “He’s still on the show. We have to [keep] flashing back to a lot of things. I think the first episode back, we flash back to a lot of moments we never saw that are kind of happy — we never got to see [Wes] very happy.”

Speaking of which, Enoch’s reaction to seeing his charred body on the gurney might surprise you. “I was as desensitized to [the sight] as anyone could have been, just because I saw the four hours that it took to get me into that state! I knew how long it would take to get it off, so that’s all I was seeing,” Enoch admits. “I’m about to watch the episode, and hopefully it looks as good as people say it looks.”

What’s Next?

Enoch says about the finale reveal, “It’s going to change up the story in a big way. It will have an impact on all the characters, and that was a big part of the purpose, to shake things up.”

Other than that, the alum of the Harry Potter film series knows just about the same as the rest of Us! He points out, “We only find out episode to episode each part of the puzzle, as the audience does, too, I guess!”

Tell Us: Did you correctly guess who was under the sheet? And will you miss the character who died?
