Drama is brewing within the MomTok community and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast as the Hulu reality show undergoes a major shakeup.
“It is a mess between the girls behind the scenes, and everyone has really turned their backs against Taylor Frankie Paul,” a source exclusively shares with Us. “Taylor has not been in a good place mentally and does not have many people who are supporting her publicly, which is hard.”
Although Jessi Draper has publicly supported her costar and friend, the insider says “almost all of the girls agree that Taylor is a ticking time bomb and ultimately can’t trust her.”
“They are over her,” the source explains, “and don’t want to deal with it anymore.”
Although Hulu has not confirmed any casting decisions for upcoming seasons, Mikayla Mathews previously announced that she would not be returning to the reality show and said she would be donating the money she would have earned for the rest of season 6 to the National Children’s Alliance.
According to a source, many of the girls, including Layla Taylor and Mayci Neeley, are unsure if they will continue for future seasons.
“Everything is up in the air,” the source shares. “It is renewed, but producers are very unclear about how the show will proceed.”
On Monday, September 21, Taylor, 32, seemingly confirmed her exit from the show in a social media post.
“My gratitude goes to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return. However, I don’t desire to move forward like this,” she wrote via Instagram. “It’s a pleasure to remove myself so they can continue, because I’ve almost convinced myself I’m deserving of all this pain and to a certain degree absolutely this is consequences of my actions. My question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough…I’m just relieved to be out.”
While one source says it was a decision made by the network that Taylor agreed “was for the best,” another insider denies producers pushed the reality star out.
As the second insider shares, “Everyone wants what is best for Taylor and her health.”
Us has reached out to Hulu and Taylor’s rep for comment.
The SLOMW returned for its long-awaited fifth season on September 10 after production was paused earlier this year amid legal issues involving Taylor and her ex Dakota Mortensen.
Taylor previously expressed her disappointment at some cast members not supporting her on or off camera.
“I originally was willing to be removed to let them all continue on with less stress and I’m back to that point,” she wrote via Instagram. “Some of the girls know what I’ve been through and then to turn and collectively pile on with their ‘statements’ knowing there has been ongoing abuse through the system the last 8 months on top of what I’ve endured. Almost the entire cast plus some, going at me….laughing about my kids is disgusting.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming now on Hulu.
