There’s nothing quite like Broadway! James Corden had a mesmerizing Carpool Karaoke trip to work on Monday, June 6, when Lin-Manuel Miranda and a host of other Broadway stars jumped in his car to help him find his way to New York City’s Beacon Theatre.
In the Big Apple ahead of his hosting duties for the 2016 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 12, Corden, 37, needed a helping hand to get him to the venue — and who better than the creator of the smash hit musical Hamilton?
The amazing karaoke session began with Corden and Miranda tearing up the opening number from his show — wowing the audience with their raps. And then (surprise, surprise!), they come across a few other Broadway stars to add to the Tony Award prep gang!
“Good luck with hosting!” Jane Krakowski says to Corden as she climbs in the back seat alongside Audra McDonald and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Of course, then it’s time for some seriously unforgettable musical moments, including Rent’s “Seasons of Love,” and Jersey Boys’ “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”
But nothing, and we mean nothing, can prepare you for their awesome (and very high energy!) rendition of “One More Day,” from Les Misérables!
