A bromance for the ages! Ageless wonders Rob Lowe and John Stamos both have new sitcoms headed to Fox this fall — The Grinder and Grandfathered, respectively — and the genetically blessed twosome have a secret past that Stamos revealed when he crashed Lowe's Television Critics Association summer press tour panel in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Thursday, Aug. 6.
After a reporter asked Lowe, 51, about the fact that he and network-mate Stamos, also 51, apparently are immune to the ravages of time on the human body, Lowe joked about the fact that Stamos does not even belong to Jimmy Kimmel's viral video-famous Handsome Men's Club.
"As a founding member of Jimmy Kimmel's Handsome Men's Club, Stamos has been up for membership," he teased. "So far the board hasn't said yes. Sting is really lobbying hard [for him]. David Beckham has blackballed him every time he's gotten close. But I am looking forward to when John gets in — it's a wonderful club."
But the Fuller House star, who was lurking in the back of the room, urged Lowe to come clean about their real connection. “Rob, tell the truth," he yelled over the crowd. "We’ve dated for years!”
Later, on his own panel for Grandfathered, Stamos revealed that he'd heard the line of questioning from the bathroom and couldn't resist jumping in.
The Grinder and Grandfathered premiere Tuesday, Sept. 29, on Fox.
