Another day, another “Hotline Bling” remix. Justin Bieber put his own spin on Drake’s current smash single, “Hotline Bling,” on Friday, Oct. 30, and told fans to call an actual hotline to hear it.
“Call me 231-377-1113 on my cell phone,” the pop star, 21, tweeted. He also shared an Instagram snap of what he called his “1-800-HotlineBling Remix,” writing, “Should I? Love to my bro @champagnepapi. Canadian boys really doing it. #PURPOSE 1 (213) 322-1113.”
And while the Biebs did change up some of the lyrics — singing “you used to call him on his cell phone” — the most obvious change was how he digitized the song, making it sound as if it were being played through an actual hotline.
The surprise remix for his fans could very well be a token of appreciation after Bieber’s rough week. He walked out of a cringingly awkward radio interview on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and he also angered fans on Thursday, Oct. 29, in Norway, when he walked off the stage during a concert and didn’t return.
Selena Gomez’s ex took to Instagram on Friday to apologize to his fans, writing, “Sadly it’s been a rough week for me, long days no sleep … I am so sorry and anyone I may have disappointed I’m sorry.”
The “What Do You Mean?” singer is gearing up for the release of his upcoming studio album, Purpose, due Nov. 13.
