In his dreams! Kristen Bell clarified during Conan on Tuesday, October 4, that she and her husband, Dax Shepard, are, in fact, not swingers.
The Bad Moms actress, 36, found herself in the hilariously awkward position of having to discuss the topic because of her longtime love. Back in July, Shepard, 41, joked to Conan O’Brien that the men should swap wives.
“Are you aware that he was on the show recently and he casually on the air suggested a wife swap with you and my wife [Liza] and us switching it up?” O’Brien, 53, asked Bell.
“This sounds like my husband,” the Veronica Mars alum quipped. “But I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but you’re not the first person he’s tried to get us to swing with.”
Conan’s sidekick, Andy Richter, called Shepard a “horn dog,” but Bell prefers to call her husband a “free spirit” around her parents.
“He just loves people. He loves the human frame and he constantly suggests at different dinner parties that we ‘hang out’ and ‘really get to know each other,'” she explained. “We’re not actually swinging with anyone.”
That doesn’t mean they aren’t obsessed with other couples. She joked that they are in love with their friends Ryan Hansen and Amy Russell, but “haven’t consummated” with them and “never” would. Hansen starred in Veronica Mars with Bell.
Bell and the Parenthood alum married in 2013 and are parents of daughters Lincoln, 3, and Delta, 20 months.
